It's Almost Reunion Time!

It’s just about 35 days until I get into the airport shuttle van to go to SeaTac Airport, go through the TSA checkpoint and get on a Delta Airbus A321neo to the other Washington for our annual Mohawk Reunion!  It’s gonna be fun to renew friendships that have been too long neglected because of the pandemic and other reasons really not worth mentioning.

I’ve been checking the “Who Will Be Attending” site on the reunion page of the Association’s website (THANKS to Terry Clark and the Armed Forces Region folks for making this available!) and am thrilled to see so many of us Blackhawks and Phantomhawks are attending!  Here’s list as of July 22 of those who we’ll see in DC in a few weeks:  Bucky Buchanan, George Drago, Ron Gronitz, Arlan Lando, Bobbie Luthi, Brenda Sachs, Alan Summers, Gary Todd and Art Winslow.

It is with sadness that three of my closest friends, Steve Sachs, Joe Beckham and Bill Page, “…have slipped the surly bonds of Earth” and can no longer be with us.  But we are all getting older, so this is part of life.

But remembering our time at Phu Hiep and Tuy Hoa is important, and sitting on one of those really comfortable Martin-Baker ejection seats for several hours has to be one of the most wonderful memories we can have.  Several years ago I put together a video to the Beach Boys song “Good Vibrations” using images of our Mohawks.  Just click on this link and enjoy!
